- We chose the Salem Witch Trials as our topic because we went learned this in our history class and we wanted to learn more about it. In class, we only learn a little bit of the subject but when we look it up and read through articles and stories we learns a lot more what we expected to. Salem Witch Trials spoke to us, it gave us curiosity but many ways like the title we crawl under your skin. Accusing people and putting people in trials then killing them just because of a little incident was intruding because in this generation with all the rules and you need to have evidence to trail someone but back then if you were accused you had to go to court as many times with no limit. The Salem Witch Trial caught our eye even though there were millions of options we could have picked like the Amendments.
- We conducted our research by going to the public library and checking out books, reading through them. We also surfed the internet, looking through websites; we read articles and timelines to help out. In the computers we used in the library we went through anything that could help us to the smithsonian.com to ask.com. Most information we got was from timelines that told us who died in what year and the background history and what was going on during that time. At first we went through our school library then after school we would drive to our public library and we went on the computers and sat down on the tables and look through the books we founded and took notes what we thought was necessary in the paragraphs. When we were stumped on something, we asked grownups for help like the librarian.
- To be honest, we all debated together if we were going to do a performance or a website. At first we were going to do a performance by using puppets, we spend our class time looking up what we should say and how to make the puppets and so as in the library. After weeks came by we decided to switch to do a website because it was hard to get everybody together after school and discuss what we should do. We also couldn't do the boards because our teacher said we weren't going to because we did boards for our footprints project.
- To us Salem Witch Trials does fit the theme of "The Individual in History" because each person who was part of the crucible had the power to stop the silly game but each individual decided to lie or be truthful but ends up being hanged or drowned or die in the prison cell from diseases. This topic is individual because in history the Salem Witch Trials is unique, this never happen before but there was similar cases but the same like some parts in history back then they would not give any trials and they would burn them and the Salem Witch Trials also was started because of religious problems.
